Cristina Morales is one of the most recognized percussionists of her generation and of the present time in Spain. A percussionist who brings with her an exciting musical influence due to the diverse cultures that converge in the Canary Islands, her place of origin. She studied dance and percussion in Brazil, the Canary Islands, Madrid and Cuba. She has worked as a percussionist and chorus player for years from a very early age in groups of different musical genres.

She has shared the stage with outstanding musicians such as Jorge Pardo, José El Francés, the Cuban percussion master Tata Güines, another great master of world percussion, the Brazilian Naná Vasconcelos, and even with the pianist Joachim Kühn, precursor of the “Free Jazz” movement in Europe, being part of his quintet on a tour of Formentera and Ibiza, places where he worked as a percussionist for many years.

Cristina has also accompanied renowned artists on television such as
Cristian Castro, Luz Casal, Laura Pausini, Chenoa, Malú, Pimpinela, among
others. She has been awarded in 2011 with the 3rd National Award as Best Club Live PA in the National Gala of DEEJAYMAGS’10 Awards. Her versatility has allowed her to be part of many different groups, with which she has shared the stage in various cities in Europe, America and Africa. Currently she is the percussionist and vocalist in the band of the brilliant saxophonist “Iñaki Arakistain Band” with whom she recorded the album “Another Road” (2018), obtaining very good reviews and recognition within the field of Jazz and Jazz Fusion.

She has recorded the percussion in the last album of the singer Juan Valderrama (Juanito Valderrama), “Mujeres de Carne y Verso” where great Flamenco Artists like CARMEN LINARES, CARMEN PARIS, SOLE GIMENEZ, MARIA DEL MAR BONET, LAS MIGAS…
